In a thrilling Week 5 showdown, the Seattle Seahawks narrowly defeated the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 51-42, solidifying their place as a formidable contender in the 2026 season. The stakes were high as both teams sought crucial conference standings, but it was the Seahawks who emerged victorious in this high-octane offensive battle. On offense, Randall Cunningham put on a spectacular performance for the 49ers, throwing for 507 yards and a staggering six touchdowns, showcasing his elite passing ability. However, the Seahawks’ De'Von Achane stole the spotlight on the ground, racking up 228 rushing yards, while Jaylin Lane led the receiving corps for San Francisco with 158 yards. This offensive fireworks display kept fans on the edge of their seats throughout the game. Defensively, the Seahawks made crucial plays that ultimately turned the tide in their favor, led by Anthony Hill Jr., who recorded three interceptions, showcasing his knack for making game-changing plays. While Aidan Hutchinson of the 49ers managed to get to the quarterback once, it was the consistent pressure and turnovers by Seattle’s defense that stifled San Francisco's momentum. The turning point came in the second half when Hill’s third interception set up a touchdown that shifted the momentum decisively towards the Seahawks, allowing them to hold off the 49ers in the final minutes.
