In an explosive season opener, the Cleveland Browns triumphed over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a commanding 67-42 victory. With both teams eager to kick off the 2026 season with a statement win, the Browns showcased their offensive prowess, powered by a standout performance from their quarterback. Lamar Jackson was nothing short of sensational, throwing for 396 yards and six touchdowns while also leading the ground game with 148 rushing yards. His ability to both pass and run the football kept the Jaguars' defense on its heels throughout the contest. Troy Franklin made a mark for Jacksonville with 130 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Cleveland's offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Browns managed to turn the tide with key plays, highlighted by Jarrick Bernard-Converse's two interceptions that thwarted potential scoring drives for the Jaguars. The game’s turning point came in the second quarter when Jackson orchestrated a dominant drive capped off by a touchdown pass, extending the Browns' lead to a comfortable margin. The Jaguars struggled to recover, as Cleveland's defense continued to capitalize on mistakes, sealing a decisive victory.
