In a thrilling Week 1 matchup of the 2027 season, the Chicago Bears topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 28-13. The victory sets a strong tone for the Bears as they look to build momentum early in the season against a formidable opponent. Caleb Williams shone for Chicago, throwing for 231 yards and leading his team to a decisive offensive performance. Brock Purdy managed one touchdown pass for San Francisco, but it was Christian McCaffrey’s solid 83 rushing yards and Amon-Ra St. Brown's impressive 93 receiving yards that kept the 49ers in the game, though ultimately fell short. Defensively, Montez Sweat was a standout for the Bears, recording two sacks that disrupted the 49ers' rhythm and created key turnovers. The turning point came in the second half when Chicago's defense stifled a crucial drive from San Francisco, maintaining their lead and allowing the Bears to control the tempo of the game down the stretch.
