The Miami Dolphins narrowly defeated the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 31-24 in a thrilling Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season. Both teams entered the game looking to establish momentum early in the season, but it was the Dolphins who ultimately came out on top in this high-stakes contest. Brock Purdy showcased his skills for the 49ers, throwing for 293 yards and three touchdowns, but it was Jonathan Taylor who made a significant impact for Miami, rushing for 95 yards. With both offenses firing on all cylinders, the game featured explosive plays, but it was Miami's balanced attack that ultimately secured the victory. Defensively, the Dolphins made crucial stops when it mattered most, highlighted by a key interception from Jordyn Brooks that shifted momentum late in the game. Although Ji'Ayir Brown led the 49ers with four tackles, it was Chop Robinson's lone sack that stifled a San Francisco drive at a pivotal moment. Miami's ability to capitalize on defensive opportunities proved to be the game’s turning point, allowing them to hold off the 49ers in the final minutes.
