In a decisive matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Atlanta Falcons 36-19 in Week 15 of the 2026 season. The victory keeps Washington in the playoff conversation, while the Falcons struggle to find consistency as the season winds down. Jayden Daniels led the Commanders’ offensive charge with three touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to connect with receivers under pressure. Jacory Croskey-Merritt was a standout on the ground, amassing 124 rushing yards and providing a powerful presence that kept Atlanta's defense on its heels. Meanwhile, Michael Penix Jr. threw for 254 yards for the Falcons, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Commanders' balanced attack. Defensively, Washington's unit forced critical mistakes, but it was Atlanta's inability to capitalize on their own opportunities that proved pivotal. A.J. Terrell Jr. made significant contributions with two interceptions, yet it was the Commanders' ability to pressure the Falcons that shifted momentum. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Washington's defense stifled a potential scoring drive, leading to a quick touchdown for the Commanders that widened the gap and dictated the game's pace.
