In a thrilling Week 15 showdown, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Los Angeles Chargers 49-41, solidifying their playoff ambitions in the 2026 season. Both teams put their offensive prowess on full display, but it was the 49ers who secured the crucial victory in a game that had postseason implications. Brock Purdy was a standout under center for San Francisco, throwing for six touchdowns and leading the team to a commanding offensive performance. Christian McCaffrey added a powerful ground game with 133 rushing yards, while the Chargers' Justin Herbert kept pace with a robust 433 passing yards, showcasing the firepower on both sides. Ladd McConkey also had a remarkable day for Los Angeles, racking up 216 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the 49ers' scoring barrage. Defensively, Ji'Ayir Brown made a significant impact with an interception, providing a key turnover that shifted momentum in favor of San Francisco. The game’s turning point came when the 49ers capitalized on a Chargers' miscue, allowing them to extend their lead late in the contest. Despite a strong effort from Los Angeles, including Akheem Mesidor's 1.5 sacks, they were unable to stop the relentless San Francisco offense when it counted the most.
