In a decisive Week 5 matchup, the Seattle Seahawks overwhelmed the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 37-8, solidifying their position in the NFC West. The Seahawks aimed to maintain their momentum, while the 49ers sought to bounce back from previous struggles. Jadarian Price was the standout on offense for Seattle, rushing for an impressive 146 yards, showcasing his speed and agility throughout the game. Quarterback Brock Purdy of the 49ers managed to throw for 212 yards and one touchdown, but he faced constant pressure and struggled to find rhythm against the Seahawks' defense. Rashid Shaheed also contributed significantly to the Seahawks' success, leading the receivers with 70 yards. Defensively, the Seahawks were relentless, with Terrion Arnold leading the charge with nine total tackles and an interception that shifted the momentum of the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when Arnold's pick set up a touchdown drive, extending Seattle's lead and putting the 49ers on their heels. Osa Odighizuwa provided some resistance for San Francisco with a sack, but it was not enough to slow down the Seahawks’ dominant performance.
