In an explosive start to the 2027 season, the Carolina Panthers topped the Atlanta Falcons with a final score of 42-24. The victory not only sets the tone for the Panthers but also highlights their offensive firepower as they look to establish themselves early in the year. Leading the charge for Carolina was quarterback Devon Dampier, who threw for an impressive 402 yards and six touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers. Chris Brazzell II emerged as his primary target, racking up 133 receiving yards and proving difficult for the Falcons' secondary to contain. On the other side, Bijan Robinson put forth a strong effort for Atlanta, rushing for 94 yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Panthers' high-octane offense. Carolina's defense played a crucial role in securing the win, with Nic Scourton dominating the line with 2.5 sacks, consistently putting pressure on the Falcons' quarterback. The game’s turning point came in the second quarter when Dampier threw a pivotal touchdown pass that shifted momentum firmly in favor of the Panthers. Despite a late interception by Christian Harris of Atlanta, the Falcons couldn't mount a comeback, as Carolina's defense held strong to seal the victory.
