In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the Las Vegas Raiders topped the Detroit Lions with a final score of 31-21, securing a pivotal victory in the early part of the 2027 season. Both teams were looking to establish momentum, but the Raiders proved too strong on the road, enhancing their playoff aspirations. Leading the charge for Las Vegas was quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who threw for 293 yards and one touchdown, showcasing his ability to command the field. The Raiders' ground game was also effective, with Ashton Jeanty racking up 89 rushing yards, while De'Zhaun Stribling emerged as a standout receiver, amassing 136 yards through the air to keep the chains moving. Defensively, the Raiders were solid, with Colin Simmons recording four total tackles, helping to stifle the Lions' offensive efforts. The game's turning point came in the second half when the Raiders' defense held the Lions to a crucial three-and-out, allowing Las Vegas to extend their lead and ultimately secure the victory. Despite a notable performance from Detroit's Tyleik Williams, who logged two sacks, it wasn't enough to shift the momentum back in their favor.
