The Carolina Panthers topped the Pittsburgh Steelers 23-7 in a decisive Week 16 matchup that showcased their playoff aspirations. With this victory, the Panthers solidified their position as a contender in the race for the postseason, while the Steelers struggled to find their rhythm on both sides of the ball. Leading the charge for the Panthers was Bryce Young, who contributed significantly with 59 rushing yards, helping to keep the chains moving. On the other side, Drew Allar of the Steelers threw for 169 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Panthers' defensive pressure. Germie Bernard stood out in the receiving game for Pittsburgh, racking up 82 yards, but the offense consistently stalled. Defensively, the Panthers made their mark with Jaelan Phillips recording two sacks, putting constant pressure on Allar and disrupting the Steelers' offensive flow. The turning point came when Jaycee Horn intercepted a pass, shifting momentum firmly in Carolina's favor and allowing them to control the game's tempo. The Panthers' defense effectively stifled Pittsburgh's attempts to rally, sealing a crucial win as they head toward the postseason.
