In a decisive opening match of the 2027 season, the Houston Texans topped the Jacksonville Jaguars with a commanding 34-13 victory. The Texans showcased their offensive prowess, making a strong statement as they look to build on last year's successes. Leading the charge for Houston was quarterback Dante Moore, who threw for an impressive 331 yards and four touchdowns, demonstrating his efficiency and ability to connect with his targets. Mario Craver was his primary weapon, racking up 90 receiving yards and contributing significantly to the aerial assault. Meanwhile, Joe Mixon of the Jaguars managed to keep the ground game alive with 82 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Texans' offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Texans were able to apply pressure throughout the game, with Will Anderson Jr. recording 1.5 sacks, disrupting the Jaguars' rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when Moore threw two quick touchdowns, swinging momentum firmly in favor of Houston. Despite Travis Hunter's impressive three interceptions for Jacksonville, the inability to capitalize on those turnovers ultimately sealed their fate in this contest.
