In a decisive Week 15 matchup, the Houston Texans dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 31-7, solidifying their playoff aspirations. With the victory, Houston improves its standing in the competitive AFC South, while the Jaguars face a tough road ahead as they seek to regroup in their final games of the season. C.J. Stroud managed the game effectively for the Texans, throwing for 125 yards and connecting on key plays that set the tone early. However, it was Derrick Henry who truly stole the show, racking up an impressive 187 rushing yards and scoring multiple times, showcasing his power and agility. On the other side, Trevor Lawrence found the end zone once but struggled against a stout Texans defense, finishing with just one touchdown to his name. The Texans' defense played a pivotal role in the outcome, with Chidobe Awuzie leading the charge with three total tackles. Houston's pressure limited Lawrence's effectiveness and created opportunities for turnovers, including a key interception by Henry To'oTo'o that shifted momentum firmly in favor of the home team. The turning point came in the second quarter when the Texans scored back-to-back touchdowns, effectively putting the game out of reach for the Jaguars.
