In a thrilling season opener, the Seattle Seahawks narrowly defeated the New England Patriots 29-26, showcasing their resilience in a tightly contested matchup. Both teams were eager to make a statement in Week 1, but it was Seattle that ultimately prevailed, setting the tone for their campaign. Seattle's J.J. McCarthy shone under pressure, throwing for two touchdowns and helping his team establish a crucial lead. On the ground, Bhayshul Tuten was a force, racking up 103 rushing yards, while Odell Beckham Jr. kept the Patriots in the game with an impressive 171 receiving yards. Drake Maye, despite the loss, put up 250 passing yards, demonstrating his potential in the Patriots' offense. Defensively, the Seahawks made key plays to disrupt New England's flow, with DeMarcus Lawrence contributing a sack that proved pivotal in stalling a drive. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Seattle's defense held strong, forcing the Patriots to settle for a field goal, ultimately securing the win. Robert Spillane stood out for New England with eight total tackles, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome.
