The Washington Commanders secured a hard-fought victory over the Los Angeles Rams, topping them 17-10 in a pivotal Week 9 matchup of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams showcased their strengths, but it was the Commanders who ultimately emerged victorious. Leading the charge for Washington was quarterback Jayden Daniels, who threw for an impressive 294 yards and a touchdown. His connection with receiver Jayden Reed, who racked up 99 receiving yards, proved crucial in maintaining momentum and securing key first downs throughout the game. On the other side, Rams running back Kyren Williams put forth a strong performance with 94 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Commanders' offensive output. Defensively, the Commanders made their mark with a standout performance from Daron Payne, who recorded a key sack that disrupted the Rams' rhythm at a critical juncture. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Payne's pressure led to an errant throw from the Rams' quarterback, shifting the game's momentum firmly in Washington's favor. Overall, the Commanders' defense held strong, limiting the Rams to just 10 points and sealing the victory.
