The Washington Commanders secured a decisive 28-12 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6 of the 2026 season. This win not only bolsters Washington's playoff aspirations but also serves as a setback for San Francisco, who struggled to find their rhythm on both sides of the ball. Jayden Daniels led the charge for Washington with a stellar performance, throwing for three touchdowns while managing the game effectively. Meanwhile, Jacory Croskey-Merritt showcased his talent on the ground, racking up 119 rushing yards that complemented the Commanders' balanced offense. San Francisco's Brock Purdy put up impressive numbers with 261 passing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Washington's explosive attack. Defensively, the Commanders made crucial plays that shifted the momentum in their favor. Odafe Oweh's 1.5 sacks were pivotal in disrupting Purdy's rhythm, while Nate Hobbs sealed the deal with a timely interception. The game's turning point came midway through the second quarter when Washington scored back-to-back touchdowns, taking a commanding lead that San Francisco could never recover from.
