In a thrilling Week 1 matchup, the Kansas City Chiefs held off the Denver Broncos, securing a 24-17 victory. With both teams eager to start the season strong, the Chiefs managed to capitalize on key opportunities to claim an important win in the AFC West. Bo Nix shone bright for the Broncos, throwing for 295 yards and two touchdowns, showing poise under pressure throughout the game. His favorite target, Troy Franklin, racked up 92 receiving yards, making several key catches to keep Denver in contention. However, the Broncos' ground game struggled, which limited their offensive versatility. Defensively, the Chiefs made crucial plays, with Mansoor Delane standing out by snagging two interceptions that turned the tide in Kansas City’s favor. Chris Jones was also a force, recording 1.5 sacks and consistently pressuring Nix, which disrupted Denver’s rhythm. The game’s turning point came in the fourth quarter when Delane's second interception set up a touchdown drive that put the Chiefs ahead for good.
