In a tightly contested battle, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the New York Jets 20-14 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, the Chiefs managed to hold off a late surge from the Jets, securing a crucial victory at home. Cade Klubnik led the Jets offensively, throwing for 188 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to keep the game competitive. However, it was Kenneth Walker of the Chiefs who stole the spotlight on the ground, rushing for 127 yards and proving to be a key component in Kansas City’s game plan. Despite the loss, Omar Cooper Jr. contributed to the Jets' offense with 44 receiving yards. Defensively, Mansoor Delane made an impact for the Chiefs, recording three total tackles and snagging an interception that shifted the momentum in Kansas City's favor. The game's turning point came in the fourth quarter when Delane's pick halted a promising Jets drive, allowing the Chiefs to maintain their lead and ultimately secure the win. Will McDonald IV of the Jets added a sack, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in a game defined by tight defensive plays.
