In a hard-fought battle in Week 5 of the 2026 season, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 16-10. With both teams vying for vital conference positioning, this game had significant playoff implications. The 49ers' defense held strong, making crucial stops that ultimately defined the outcome. Offensively, Jalen Milroe led the Seahawks with 219 passing yards, showcasing his arm strength and ability to move the chains. However, it was Christian McCaffrey's steady ground game for the 49ers, racking up 62 rushing yards, and Mike Evans' pivotal contributions in the air with 82 receiving yards that made a difference. Their efforts ensured San Francisco maintained control of the tempo throughout the game. Defensively, DeMarcus Lawrence stood out for the Seahawks, recording 7 total tackles and 1.5 sacks, but it was the 49ers' ability to limit Seattle's scoring opportunities that proved decisive. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when San Francisco's defense stifled a potential game-winning drive, forcing a turnover on downs and sealing the victory. This performance underscores the 49ers' resilience as they continue their quest for a playoff berth.
