In a commanding performance, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the Denver Broncos 35-14 in their season opener, setting a confident tone for the 2026 campaign. With the victory, the Chiefs aim to reclaim their dominance in the AFC West, while the Broncos look to regroup after a tough start. Patrick Mahomes showcased his elite talent, throwing for 200 yards and three touchdowns, connecting frequently with standout tight end Travis Kelce, who racked up 119 receiving yards. J.K. Dobbins led the Broncos' ground game with 72 rushing yards but struggled to keep pace with the Chiefs' high-octane offense. Defensively, the Chiefs made crucial plays that shifted momentum, highlighted by an interception from Jailin Walker and a sack from R Mason Thomas. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Mahomes connected with Kelce for a touchdown, extending the lead to three scores and putting the game out of reach for Denver. The Chiefs' defense held firm, ensuring the Broncos could never mount a serious comeback.
