In a decisive matchup, the Atlanta Falcons topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28-13 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. This victory keeps the Falcons firmly in the playoff conversation, while the Buccaneers struggle to find their footing in a competitive division. Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. led the charge with a passing touchdown, while Bijan Robinson showcased his skills with 68 rushing yards, making crucial plays to extend drives. On the receiving end, the Buccaneers’ Emeka Egbuka impressed with 97 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to propel Tampa Bay to victory. Baker Mayfield put up 194 passing yards, but struggled to find the end zone. Defensively, the Falcons were anchored by Xavier Watts, who recorded eight total tackles, helping to stifle the Buccaneers' offense throughout the game. The turning point came late in the second half when the Falcons' defense forced a critical turnover, shifting momentum squarely in their favor. Despite a strong performance from Vita Vea, who notched 1.5 sacks for Tampa, it was the Falcons' relentless pressure that ultimately sealed the win.
