In a thrilling matchup, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 37-35 in Week 6 of the 2026 season. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, this contest showcased the resilience and talent of both rosters, but it was the 49ers who ultimately emerged victorious in a nail-biter. Washington's Jayden Daniels put on a remarkable performance, throwing for 321 yards and three touchdowns, firmly establishing himself as a leader in the passing game. Meanwhile, Terry McLaurin was a standout target, hauling in 172 receiving yards, making critical catches throughout the game. Though Christian McCaffrey led the 49ers in rushing with 87 yards, it was the air attack that kept the game competitive. Defensively, San Francisco's DeForest Buckner made his mark with two sacks, disrupting Washington's offensive rhythm at key moments. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Buckner's pressure led to a crucial turnover, allowing the 49ers to maintain their slim lead. Despite a valiant effort from the Commanders' defense, including Amik Robertson's ten total tackles, it wasn't enough to seal the victory.
