In a tightly contested matchup, the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-13 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. This victory propels the Vikings to a promising start, while the Buccaneers are left searching for answers as the season progresses. Minnesota's Kyler Murray showcased his dual-threat ability, passing for 166 yards and throwing a touchdown, while also effectively managing the game. T.J. Hockenson emerged as his top target, racking up 69 receiving yards, which proved crucial for sustaining drives and maintaining momentum for the Vikings. Kenny Gainwell led the Buccaneers on the ground with 54 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback. Defensively, the Vikings turned the tide with a pivotal interception by Harrison Smith, who snatched the ball at a critical moment, halting a Buccaneers drive and shifting the game's momentum. Despite a strong performance from Tampa Bay's Zyon McCollum, who tallied seven tackles, and Vita Vea contributing a sack, the Vikings' defense ultimately held firm, securing the win and showcasing their resilience when it mattered most.
