In a thrilling season opener, the Denver Broncos topped the Kansas City Chiefs 63-49, showcasing a high-octane offensive battle that set the tone for the 2026 season. Both teams came out firing, but it was the Broncos who emerged victorious in this high-stakes matchup, leaving fans buzzing for what's to come. Patrick Mahomes put on a spectacular show for the Chiefs, racking up an impressive 544 passing yards and five touchdowns, but it was RJ Harvey of the Broncos who stole the spotlight with a staggering 263 rushing yards. The dual-threat capability of Denver's offense kept Kansas City's defense on its heels, as they struggled to contain Harvey's explosive runs while also defending against the aerial assault. Defensively, the Broncos made a crucial impact with Alex Singleton’s interception, which helped shift momentum during a critical moment in the game. Though L'Jarius Sneed led the Chiefs with six tackles, Kansas City's defense couldn't find a consistent answer to Denver's relentless offensive push. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Denver's offense capitalized on a turnover, ultimately sealing the game and reinforcing their dominance in this intense rivalry.
