In a decisive Week 5 matchup, the Houston Texans took down the Tennessee Titans with a commanding 49-21 victory, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The Texans displayed an offensive juggernaut, putting the Titans on notice early in the season. C.J. Stroud led the charge for Houston, throwing for 258 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his accuracy and poise in the pocket. Complementing the passing game, Joe Mixon was a force on the ground, racking up 151 rushing yards, while Nico Collins emerged as a favorite target, hauling in 117 receiving yards. This offensive trio proved too much for the Titans to handle throughout the contest. Defensively, the Texans were equally impressive, with Wade Woodaz leading the team in tackles with four. Will Anderson Jr. applied pressure consistently, notching 1.5 sacks, which disrupted the Titans' rhythm. The turning point came when Calen Bullock intercepted a pass, shifting momentum firmly in favor of Houston and sealing the Titans' fate in this one-sided affair.
