In a decisive opening match of the 2026 season, the New England Patriots topped the Seattle Seahawks with a final score of 28-14. The Patriots sought to establish dominance early in the season, and they did just that against a Seahawks team looking to bounce back from last year’s struggles. Drake Maye was the standout performer for New England, throwing for 317 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his poise and precision in the pocket. Hunter Henry emerged as his primary target, racking up an impressive 150 receiving yards, while TreVeyon Henderson contributed effectively on the ground with 58 rushing yards. Together, they formed a potent offensive combination that kept the Seahawks' defense on its heels. Defensively, the Patriots were formidable, with Carlton Davis III grabbing two crucial interceptions to halt Seattle's momentum. Kevin Byard III led the team with five total tackles, helping to keep the Seahawks' scoring opportunities in check. The game's turning point came when Davis's second interception set up a touchdown drive, allowing New England to extend their lead and ultimately secure the victory.
