In a nail-biting finish, the Houston Texans narrowly defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 17-16 in Week 3 of the 2029 season. The game had critical playoff implications, making every point essential as both teams battled for early-season positioning. C.J. Stroud showcased his talent, throwing for 241 yards and leading the Texans' offense effectively. Nico Collins was his top target, racking up 73 receiving yards, while the Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence managed to connect for one touchdown but struggled to keep pace with Stroud’s productivity. Bhayshul Tuten made a significant impact on the ground for Jacksonville, rushing for 95 yards, but it wasn't enough to secure a victory. Defensively, the Texans were relentless, with Will Anderson Jr. dominating the pass rush, recording 2.5 sacks. Meanwhile, Derek Stingley Jr. made his presence felt in the secondary with two crucial interceptions that stifled Jacksonville's drives. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Stingley’s second pick set up a field goal that ultimately sealed the game for Houston.
