In a thrilling Week 18 showdown, the Tennessee Titans held off the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 28-21, clinching a crucial victory as the regular season comes to a close. Both teams battled fiercely, knowing the importance of momentum heading into the playoffs, but it was Tennessee that emerged victorious on their home turf. Steve McNair led the Titans' offense with 244 passing yards, showcasing his experience and poise under pressure. Curtis Locker was a standout target, racking up an impressive 160 receiving yards and becoming a key part of Tennessee's game plan. Meanwhile, Trevor Lawrence of the Jaguars threw for two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win, despite Fred Taylor's strong ground game, which saw him rush for 94 yards. Defensively, the Titans were anchored by Cody Barton, who not only recorded eight tackles but also snagged an interception that proved critical in the game's outcome. Jeffery Simmons contributed with 1.5 sacks, putting pressure on Lawrence throughout the contest. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Barton's interception halted a Jaguar drive, allowing Tennessee to maintain their lead and seal the victory.
