In a decisive Week 6 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Washington Commanders 28-10, solidifying their position in the playoff race. With this victory, the 49ers improve their record and send a clear message about their championship aspirations. Brock Purdy led the charge for the 49ers, throwing for 2 touchdowns and showcasing his efficiency in the pocket. Jordan James contributed significantly on the ground with 70 rushing yards, while the Commanders' Jayden Daniels put up 221 passing yards, but struggled to find the end zone. Chigoziem Okonkwo was the standout receiver for Washington, racking up 66 yards in a losing effort. Defensively, the 49ers made their presence felt, with Dre Greenlaw snagging an interception that shifted the momentum midway through the game. The 49ers' ability to pressure the quarterback was evident, as Daron Payne recorded 1.5 sacks for Washington, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 49ers' balanced attack. The turning point came in the second quarter when Purdy's touchdown pass extended San Francisco's lead, ultimately proving too much for the Commanders to overcome.
