In a closely contested matchup, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Cleveland Browns 22-15 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. The win propels the 49ers to a strong start, while the Browns will have to regroup as they seek their first victory of the season. Brock Purdy was the standout performer for San Francisco, throwing for 277 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. He connected with Mike Evans, who was a dominant force in the receiving game, amassing 143 yards and providing a crucial target downfield. Despite a solid effort from Cleveland's Quinshon Judkins on the ground, the 49ers’ air attack proved decisive. Defensively, the game turned when Emmanuel McNeil-Warren intercepted two passes, but it wasn't enough to shift the momentum in favor of the Browns. Denzel Ward's six tackles and Cole Wisniewski's sack highlighted a strong defensive effort, yet they couldn't fully contain San Francisco's passing game. The 49ers’ defense held firm when it mattered, ensuring the victory as they thwarted Cleveland’s late-game attempts to rally.
