The San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Atlanta Falcons 26-20 in a tightly contested Week 7 matchup of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams were looking to secure a crucial win, but it was the 49ers who ultimately emerged victorious. Brock Purdy led the charge for San Francisco, throwing for 266 yards and connecting with his top target, Ricky Pearsall, who racked up 120 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Atlanta's Michael Penix Jr. put together a strong performance as well, tossing two touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 49ers' offensive firepower. Bijan Robinson was a standout for Atlanta on the ground, rushing for 96 yards, keeping the Falcons competitive throughout the game. Defensively, San Francisco made critical plays when it mattered most, with Ji'Ayir Brown securing an interception that shifted momentum in the second half. Dre Greenlaw added a sack to the mix, applying pressure on Penix and disrupting Atlanta's rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Brown's interception set up a key scoring drive for the 49ers, allowing them to maintain their lead and seal the victory.
