In a commanding performance, the Detroit Lions topped the New York Jets 45-27 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to establish momentum early in the year, but it was the Lions who emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess throughout the game. Cade Klubnik put on a spectacular show for the Jets, throwing for an impressive 427 yards and four touchdowns, highlighting his ability to stretch the field. However, it was Jahmyr Gibbs who stole the spotlight for the Lions, rushing for 124 yards and putting the team in a position to control the game. Adonai Mitchell also had a noteworthy performance for the Jets, racking up 136 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Detroit's offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Lions made crucial plays that shifted the momentum of the game. Stephen Griffin led the charge with seven total tackles, while Germaine Pratt recorded a sack to disrupt the Jets' rhythm. The most pivotal moment came when Kerby Joseph intercepted Klubnik twice, stifling key drives and allowing the Lions to maintain their lead and ultimately secure the win.
