In a dominant display to kick off the 2026 season, the Green Bay Packers overwhelmed the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 51-14. This matchup served as a crucial test for both teams, with the Packers aiming to assert their strength early in the year while the Vikings sought to establish momentum at home. Quarterback Jordan Love led the charge for Green Bay, throwing for 288 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to command the offense effectively. Running back Josh Jacobs added a powerful ground game with 141 rushing yards, while wide receiver Jayden Reed was a standout target, racking up 124 receiving yards. Together, they formed a potent offensive trio that proved too much for the Vikings to handle. Defensively, the Packers made their mark with a critical interception by Benjamin St-Juste, which shifted the momentum in their favor. Although the Vikings managed a sack from Jalen Redmond, it was the Packers' ability to limit the Vikings' offensive opportunities that defined the game. The turning point came early in the second quarter when St-Juste's interception set up another quick score for Green Bay, establishing an insurmountable lead that the Vikings could never recover from.
