In a commanding performance, the Chicago Bears dismantled the Detroit Lions with a final score of 42-0, solidifying their playoff aspirations in Week 12 of the 2026 season. This lopsided victory not only boosts the Bears' confidence but also raises questions about the Lions' ability to compete as the season progresses. Leading the charge for Chicago was quarterback Caleb Williams, who threw for an impressive 285 yards and five touchdowns, showcasing his dynamic playmaking ability. Wide receiver Zavion Thomas was a standout, racking up 188 receiving yards, making several key catches that stretched the Lions' defense thin. Meanwhile, running back D'Andre Swift contributed with a modest but effective ground game, adding 6 rushing yards to the Bears' offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Bears were relentless, stifling the Lions' offense and forcing them into a corner throughout the game. Defensive end Akheem Mesidor recorded a key sack, while Dillon Thieneman's interception further thwarted any hope of a Lions comeback. The turning point came early in the second quarter when the Bears' defense set the tone with a critical stop, allowing their offense to capitalize and build an insurmountable lead.
