In a thrilling Week 7 showdown, the Carolina Panthers held off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a final score of 31-25, securing a crucial victory in the 2026 season. The stakes were high as both teams vied for momentum in the competitive NFC South, but it was the Panthers who emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle. Carolina's offense was led by Bryce Young, who threw for 230 yards, effectively managing the game and making key plays when it mattered most. Chuba Hubbard complemented the passing attack with a solid ground game, rushing for 85 yards, while Jalen Coker proved to be a reliable target, also recording 85 receiving yards and a touchdown. Baker Mayfield kept the Buccaneers in the hunt with three touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Panthers made critical plays to stifle Tampa Bay's momentum, notably with an interception from Mike Jackson that shifted the game's dynamics. Although Byron Young of the Buccaneers had a standout performance with two sacks and three total tackles, it was the Panthers' ability to create turnovers that ultimately defined the outcome. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Carolina's defense forced a turnover on downs, sealing their hard-earned victory.
