The New York Jets cruised to a commanding 60-35 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 3 of the 2026 season. This high-scoring affair showcased the Jets’ explosive offense as they continued to establish themselves as a formidable contender in the league. Meanwhile, the Lions struggled to keep pace, ultimately falling short despite their valiant effort. Jared Goff turned in an impressive performance for Detroit, racking up 404 passing yards and throwing five touchdown passes, connecting with standout receiver Jameson Williams for a staggering 189 yards. The Lions' rushing attack also saw Jahmyr Gibbs contribute with 91 yards on the ground. However, the Jets' offensive firepower proved too much to handle, as they consistently found the end zone. Defensively, the Jets made critical plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Jarvis Brownlee Jr. made his mark with two key interceptions, while David Bailey added pressure with two sacks, disrupting the Lions' rhythm. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when the Jets' defense forced a turnover, allowing their offense to capitalize and extend their lead, ultimately sealing the game.
