The Philadelphia Eagles kicked off the 2026 season with a commanding 28-7 victory over the Washington Commanders. With both teams eager to make a statement in Week 1, the Eagles showcased their dominance and established themselves as early contenders in the NFC East. Quarterback Joe Milton was the star of the night, racking up 305 passing yards and throwing two touchdown passes, leading the Eagles’ offense with precision and poise. Marquise Brown also made a significant impact, hauling in six catches for 84 receiving yards, while Saquon Barkley contributed with 44 rushing yards, helping to keep the chains moving and the scoreboard ticking. Defensively, the Eagles were effective, particularly with Zack Baun's interception that shifted momentum in the second quarter. The Commanders struggled to find their rhythm, and despite Odafe Oweh's sack for Washington, the Eagles' defense consistently pressured the quarterback, forcing costly mistakes. The turning point came when Baun's interception led to a quick touchdown, solidifying Philadelphia's grip on the game.
