In a hard-fought matchup, the Houston Texans narrowly defeated the New York Giants 24-19 in Week 7 of the 2026 season. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, this game was crucial in the battle for postseason relevance. Sam Darnold led the Texans' offense, throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to make key plays when it mattered most. Ja'Kobi Lane was his favorite target, racking up 113 receiving yards and proving to be a reliable weapon against the Giants' defense. On the ground, Bucky Irving kept the Giants competitive with a standout performance, rushing for 135 yards, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. Houston's defense played a pivotal role in the outcome, forcing a critical interception by Nohl Williams that shifted momentum in their favor late in the game. Despite a strong effort from New York's Patrick Queen, who tallied 10 tackles, the Giants struggled to contain the Texans' passing game when it counted. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Darnold connected with Lane for a touchdown that ultimately sealed the victory for Houston.
