In an exciting season opener, the Tennessee Titans held off the New York Jets with a final score of 35-24. This victory sets a strong tone for the Titans as they look to build momentum in the 2026 season, while the Jets will need to regroup after a tough loss on the road. Titans quarterback Joe Milton was the star of the show, throwing for an impressive 382 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. He found his primary target, Justin Jefferson, who racked up 139 receiving yards and made several crucial catches that kept drives alive. Despite a modest rushing performance from Jets quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Titans' air attack proved too potent to contain. Defensively, the Titans were bolstered by Jonas Sanker, who intercepted two passes, turning the tide in favor of Tennessee. The Jets' defense had some bright spots, with Nolan Smith Jr. recording two sacks, but it was Sanker’s timely picks that ultimately shifted the momentum. The game turned in the second quarter when Sanker’s first interception led to a touchdown, allowing the Titans to pull ahead and maintain control for the rest of the contest.
