In a strong start to the 2029 season, the Houston Texans topped the Indianapolis Colts with a final score of 20-10. This Week 1 matchup showcased both teams vying for an early edge in the AFC South, but it was the Texans who ultimately claimed the victory. Texans quarterback Arch Manning led the offensive charge, throwing for 243 yards and securing a touchdown. Running back Mike Washington Jr. contributed significantly on the ground with 79 rushing yards, providing the Texans with a balanced attack that kept the Colts' defense on their heels. Despite a solid performance from Colts receiver Omarion Miller, who racked up 83 receiving yards, the Indianapolis offense struggled to find the end zone. On the defensive side, the Colts were unable to contain the Texans effectively, although Derrick Moore recorded two sacks, highlighting his impact on the game. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when the Texans capitalized on a turnover, allowing them to extend their lead and dictate the pace of the game. Ultimately, Houston's defense held strong, stifling any attempts by the Colts to mount a comeback in the second half.
