In a commanding display to kick off the 2027 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers topped the Indianapolis Colts 41-23. Both teams were looking to set the tone for the year, but the Buccaneers quickly established their dominance on the road. Baker Mayfield was the star of the day for Tampa Bay, throwing for 307 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to spread the ball effectively. Bucky Irving added a solid ground game with 79 rushing yards, while the Colts' Keenan Allen led all receivers with 115 yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Buccaneers' high-octane offense. Defensively, the Buccaneers made crucial plays that shifted the momentum in their favor. Zyon McCollum led the team with seven tackles, while Yaya Diaby contributed with a sack, applying pressure on the Colts' offense. The turning point came late in the second quarter, when a key interception set up another touchdown for Tampa Bay, pushing their lead to a comfortable margin that the Colts couldn't overcome.
