In a commanding performance, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Minnesota Vikings 35-17 in Week 5 of the 2027 season. With this victory, the 49ers solidify their position as a playoff contender, while the Vikings struggle to find their footing in a competitive NFC landscape. Brock Purdy was the star of the show for San Francisco, throwing for five touchdowns and showcasing his precision under pressure. Christian McCaffrey complemented the aerial attack with a strong ground game, racking up 110 rushing yards, while Mike Evans emerged as Purdy's favorite target with 114 receiving yards. Kyler Murray put forth a valiant effort for the Vikings, leading all passers with 341 yards, but ultimately, it was not enough to overcome the 49ers' offensive firepower. Defensively, the 49ers were relentless, with Deommodore Lenoir leading the team with nine total tackles and Renardo Green making a game-changing interception. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Green's pick set up a quick touchdown, allowing San Francisco to extend their lead. Andrew Van Ginkel’s 1.5 sacks provided some pressure for the Vikings, but the 49ers' defense consistently stifled Minnesota's efforts, ultimately sealing the victory.
