In a thrilling Week 7 showdown, the Atlanta Falcons outlasted the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 34-24, improving their record as they look to solidify their playoff positioning. Both teams entered the game with high stakes, but it was the Falcons who emerged victorious on their home turf. Falcons quarterback Daniel Jones was the standout performer, throwing for 226 yards and two touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Zay Flowers also made his mark, racking up 74 receiving yards and contributing significantly to the Falcons’ aerial attack. Meanwhile, Christian McCaffrey led the 49ers on the ground with 89 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Atlanta's offensive explosion. Defensively, Atlanta's Jessie Bates III anchored the unit with nine total tackles, while Za'Darius Smith added pressure with a key sack. The turning point came late in the second half when Smith's sack forced a critical 3rd down, leading to a turnover on downs that allowed the Falcons to maintain their lead and control the game. Atlanta's defense tightened in crucial moments, ensuring the 49ers could not mount a comeback.
