In a nail-biting season opener, the Houston Texans narrowly defeated the Buffalo Bills by a score of 15-14, kicking off the 2026 season with a thrilling clash. The stakes were high as both teams aimed to set the tone for the season, but it was the Texans who emerged victorious in a tightly contested battle. C.J. Stroud led the Texans' offense with poise, throwing for two touchdowns while completing 60% of his passes. Josh Allen, despite a strong performance with 325 passing yards and a touchdown, couldn't quite seal the deal for Buffalo. DJ Moore was a standout for the Bills, racking up 117 receiving yards and making key catches to keep his team in the game. Defensively, the Texans made critical plays that shifted momentum, with Danielle Hunter leading the charge with three sacks, disrupting Allen's rhythm throughout the game. Kamari Lassiter's four tackles contributed to a solid defensive effort, while Maxwell Hairston's interception kept the Texans ahead at a crucial moment. Ultimately, it was a late field goal that sealed the win, showcasing Houston's ability to capitalize on opportunities when it mattered most.
