The Minnesota Vikings opened their 2027 season with a solid 24-14 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, setting the tone for what they hope will be a successful campaign. This matchup served as a crucial early test for both teams, with the Vikings looking to establish themselves as contenders in the NFC. Quarterback Joe Milton was the star of the show for Minnesota, throwing for 196 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Meanwhile, Demond Claiborne made his mark as the top receiver, racking up 94 yards and providing key plays to keep drives alive. On the ground, Ashton Jeanty was a standout for the Raiders, carrying the ball for 84 yards, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory. Defensively, the Vikings made their presence felt with Dallas Turner contributing a sack, while Treydan Stukes of the Raiders was notable with two interceptions, attempting to spark a comeback. The turning point came in the second half when the Vikings’ defense tightened, limiting the Raiders' scoring opportunities and allowing Milton to maintain control. This combination of offensive execution and defensive resilience ultimately paved the way for Minnesota’s season-opening triumph.
