In a decisive Week 2 matchup, the Pittsburgh Steelers topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 44-21, securing a strong start to their 2027 season. The Steelers aimed to solidify their early momentum against a competitive San Francisco squad, and they did just that, demonstrating offensive prowess and defensive resilience throughout the game. Drew Allar led the charge for Pittsburgh, throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns, effectively managing the game and spreading the ball around. Jaylen Warren was a force on the ground, racking up 123 rushing yards, while DK Metcalf showcased his skills in the air with 82 receiving yards, making critical catches that kept the chains moving and the score ticking upward. On the defensive side, the Steelers' Suntarine Perkins made a significant impact with two interceptions, disrupting San Francisco's rhythm and turning the tide in favor of Pittsburgh. The turning point came early in the second half when Perkins' second pick set up a quick touchdown, extending the Steelers' lead and putting the 49ers on their heels. Despite Ephesians Prysock's solid seven tackles for San Francisco, the Steelers' defense proved too much to overcome, sealing a convincing victory on the road.
