In a decisive Week 6 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Philadelphia Eagles with a final score of 39-24, solidifying their position in the NFC East. This victory was crucial for the Commanders as they seek to build momentum in the 2028 season, while the Eagles look to regroup after a disappointing performance at home. Jalen Hurts shined for Philadelphia, throwing for an impressive 320 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense. However, it was Maurice Jones-Drew and Terry McLaurin who kept the Commanders' engine running, with Jones-Drew contributing 44 rushing yards and McLaurin racking up 84 receiving yards, making key plays that kept the Eagles on their heels. On the defensive side, the game turned when Nick Cross intercepted a crucial pass, shifting the momentum in favor of Washington. Although Zack Baun led the Eagles with eight tackles and Jonathan Greenard added 1.5 sacks, their efforts were overshadowed by the Commanders' ability to capitalize on mistakes and control the game, leading to their convincing victory.
