The Miami Dolphins secured a 27-17 victory over the East St. Louis Flyers in a Week 5 showdown of the 2027 season. This win keeps the Dolphins firmly in the playoff hunt while the Flyers struggle to find consistency as the season progresses. Miami's Malik Willis was the star of the day, throwing for 215 yards and two touchdowns, showing poise and precision under pressure. De'Von Achane added to the offensive onslaught with 83 rushing yards, providing a balanced attack that kept the Flyers' defense on its heels. CeeDee Lamb was a bright spot for East St. Louis, racking up 69 receiving yards but unable to find the end zone. The Dolphins' defense played a crucial role in the outcome, with Korie Black leading the team with four total tackles and Trey Moore contributing with a sack. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Miami's defense stifled a Flyers drive, forcing a turnover on downs that allowed Willis and the offense to extend their lead and ultimately seal the victory.
