In a tightly contested matchup, the New York Jets narrowly defeated the New England Patriots by a final score of 13-12 in Week 16 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, the Jets secured a crucial victory to bolster their postseason hopes while dealing a setback to the Patriots' aspirations. Geno Smith led the Jets' offense, throwing for 225 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his ability to manage the game effectively. Meanwhile, Romeo Doubs was a standout for New England, racking up 91 receiving yards, but the Patriots struggled to find the end zone, resulting in a frustrating outing for their offense. TreVeyon Henderson contributed on the ground, but his 30 rushing yards were not enough to ignite a scoring surge. Defensively, the Patriots were formidable, with Carlton Davis III leading the charge with seven tackles and Christian Gonzalez making a game-changing impact with two interceptions. However, the turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Jets capitalized on a key turnover, allowing them to maintain their slim lead and ultimately secure the victory. Despite the strong defensive performance from New England, they couldn't overcome the Jets' timely execution when it mattered most.
