The New York Jets started the 2027 season with a commanding 28-7 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. With both teams eager to set the tone early in the season, the Jets delivered a strong performance that showcased their offensive firepower and defensive resilience. Arch Manning shined in his season debut, tossing two touchdown passes while leading the Jets' offense effectively. Breece Hall was the standout performer on the ground, racking up an impressive 215 rushing yards, consistently breaking through the Jaguars' defense. The Jets' offensive balance proved too much for Jacksonville to handle throughout the game. Defensively, the Jets were solid, with Ty Benefield leading the team with six total tackles, ensuring that the Jaguars struggled to find their rhythm. Jacksonville's turning point came in the second quarter when a critical interception by Teddye Buchanan was squandered, failing to shift the momentum back in their favor. Ultimately, the Jets' defense stifled any hopes of a Jaguars comeback, securing a decisive win to kick off the season.
