The Detroit Lions topped the Denver Broncos 38-30 in a thrilling Week 2 matchup of the 2027 season. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the season, this game served as a crucial test for their playoff aspirations. Jared Goff led the charge for the Lions, throwing for 256 yards and three touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to connect with his targets under pressure. Amon-Ra St. Brown was a standout receiver, hauling in 121 yards, providing Goff with a reliable deep threat. RJ Harvey was the top rusher for the Broncos, but his 79 rushing yards weren't enough to keep pace with the Lions' explosive offense. Defensively, Quincy Williams made his presence felt for Detroit, recording eight total tackles and a sack, helping to disrupt the Broncos' offensive rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Williams' sack forced a crucial third down that the Broncos couldn't convert, allowing the Lions to reclaim possession and secure the victory. Despite a strong effort from Pat Surtain II, who snagged an interception for Denver, it wasn't enough to shift the momentum in their favor.
